Introducing a New Series: Weather of the Soul

There are moments when I step outside and feel that the sky is not just above me—it is within me.

Ever since I was a child, I’ve been drawn to the weather—to the way thunder felt like a heartbeat in the sky, to how snowfall could soften an entire landscape into silence, to how the changing light of each season felt like a story unfolding just beyond my reach. I didn’t always have words for that connection, only a quiet knowing that the sky and I were somehow speaking the same language.

Over the years, through my own healing, I’ve come to understand that our souls are deeply connected to the weather. That the storms we witness outside often reflect the storms we survive within. The calm after the rain can feel like an emotional release. That sunlight can arrive like renewal, and winter stillness can become a sacred place for rest, reflection, and becoming.

With that in mind, I’m beginning a new blog series here at Mystic Pages & Tea called Weather of the Soul—a space devoted to exploring how the elements around us mirror the inner seasons we move through. This series will reflect on how rain can become release, how sunlight can feel like awakening, how storms can spark transformation, and how snowfall can teach us the sacred practice of stillness.

The series opens with "The Sacred Pause: Snowfall and the Spiritual Practice of Stillness”—a reflection written alongside our first winter storm, honoring how snow invites us to slow down, turn inward, and listen to what’s been whispering beneath the noise of everyday life.

Each post in Weather of the Soul is an invitation—to notice the sky, to feel the season, and to remember the quiet truth that we belong to this living, breathing world.

Welcome to the space where weather becomes wisdom. May you find something here that feels like home.
